The small "r" headstock logo was only used for a short time, I'm guessing maybe 20-30 Renaissance and Electroline guitars used it before it was changed back to the more common "Sun Lion" logo. You can see this in the bridge close-up photo.

The bass is in otherwise great condition, with only one (very hard to see) small finish crack near the bridge.

A Kaces padded gig bag is included, also in excellent condition. The truss rod (with the broken adjuster) is dual-action, so it is still holding tension on the neck. The strings are a brand-new set of Ernie Ball Earthwood phosphor bronze acoustic bass strings.Įlectronics are pre-DTAR, I believe it's the Highlander 18V pre-amp setup with the Turner-designed piezo pickup. It also has the custom serial number of 99-900. The laminates in the neck construction are rare in a Renaissance, Rick usually only did that kind of complex woodwork for his higher-end Model One's. Rick Turner built this to my specs in 1999. This also has two kinds of binding around the body edges, both tortoise and rope purfling. Aside from the obvious problem, this is a really cool bass. The fretboard is birdseye maple with a polyester (harder than epoxy) coating.

It's beyond my "DIY" capabilities to fix it myself, but perhaps you can give it a new life?Īside from the obvious problem, this is a really cool bass. THIS IS A REPAIR PROJECT - the truss rod is broken, the adjusting bolt behind the truss rod cover is sheared off.
